in the shell. Interface Performances in Contemporary Experimental Poetry
My project addresses the interdependence, friction, criticism and potential of language, text, techniques and technologies. Using the concept of ’interface’ as both a place and mode of mediation, I will explore and compare different forms, in which texts interact with their textual materialities. Providing the opportunity to experience their mediatic condition, such experi-mental poetics reveal their dependence on the sociocultural context. They also challenge the process of reading as a means of interaction with the text. Thus, such experimental poetics offer answers to questions regarding the aesthetics and prospects of literary practices in the digital age.
